Disney World is the happiest place on earth. There are attractions, shows, and rides for everyone in your family to enjoy. But it’s not just a great vacation destination – there are lots of benefits that come with being a Disney World regular.
We’ve gathered some of our favorite reasons why you should visit Disney World as soon as possible. Keep reading to learn more!
-
Reduced Capacity
The theme parks are currently operating at reduced capacity. Walt Disney World was forced to reduce its capacity to 25% in order to open last July. Although the number is still reduced, it’s a huge step up from where they were.
Now that there are fewer people, you get the opportunity to take in all of the magic Disney World has to offer. Visiting Disney World during this time has several perks, but reduced capacity may be our favorite one.
-
Shorter Wait Times
Reduced capacity also means shorter wait times. This is great for those who are used to spending hours waiting in line just to ride one ride.
With fewer people, the lines will be shorter, and they’ll move faster. You won’t have to wait as long before getting on that ride or seeing a character! If you’re looking forward to visiting Disney World soon but don’t want any waiting time, this is perfect timing.
Some attractions do not operate during reduced capacity times, so it’s important you check ahead of time what will still be available when we visit. For example, Epcot only operates rides about 25% of the day instead of 100%.

Health and Safety Measures
If you’re concerned about a Disney World vacation during this time of year and during times like these, we’ve got some good news for you. In total, Walt Disney Company has invested more than $1 Billion in health and safety measures. Most of this money went towards Walt Disney World.
A few measures in place are handwashing stations to wash your hands before and after eating. Along with increased handwashing stations, Walt Disney World now also has hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the park.
They also provide free drinking water, ice for cooling down, gel packs to help with swelling from the heat, sun hats when needed, umbrellas if it looks like rain or someone is getting too much sun exposure.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser may be the most awaited addition to Walt Disney World since the opening of Animal Kingdom in 1998. While we can’t technically call the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser a ride, we can’t technically call it a resort either. It’s both!
In the regular Star Wars ride, you are taken to a space station where C-P30 (aka “Chewbacca”) and R-D23 are working with one another. But this time, in The Galactic Starcruiser, you’re actually on board!
You get to see what it’s like when Darth Vader has you captured and is trying to extract information from your brain. Each guest is limited to a 2-night stay, but this 2-night stay comes with a fully immersive Star Wars extravaganza experience. It sounds intense, but if you love science fiction or even just fun rides, this is for sure something worth checking out before it leaves Walt Disney World forever.
-
Tron Lightcycle Run
The Tron Lightcycle Run is a new ride and experience coming to Walt Disney World. This high-octane attraction will take you on an exciting race in the dark where your victory or defeat turns on how well you compete against friends, family members, or even complete strangers.
It all takes place inside a futuristic arena similar to the original Tron ride over at Shanghai Disneyland. The new Walt Disney World version is located next to Space Mountain in the Magic Kingdom. Tron Lightcycle Run is set to debut during Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

Discounts
Discounts are available and better than ever, with fewer people going to Disney World. If you’re wondering how to visit Disney World while saving as much money as you can, consider joining the Disney vacation club.
If you live near the parks or plan on vacationing at one of the Disney resorts for an extended amount of time, the Disney vacation club is perfect for you. You get annual pass and ticket discounts, room discounts, free laundry at Disney resorts, food and shopping discounts, and members-only access to special events and lounges!
As a Walt Disney World Vacation Club Member, you can bank Vacation Points from one year to the next or borrow them from the following year to book a reservation for the current year. Check out these DVC point charts to learn more.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
One of Disneyland Paris’ most popular rides has made its way over to Disney World. After being pushed back from 2020 to 2021, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is now open. Guests board this trackless ride on a Remy-inspired mouse vehicle and view the world as if they were the size of a rat.
As they explore different parts of Gusteau’s restaurant (including its kitchen), guests will see items that spark their curiosity about food preparation and cooking techniques. Though Disney World has many amazing rides, this one is unique in how it teaches people about what goes into making a dish from start to finish.
In addition to teaching kids all sorts of things about cooking, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure also does an excellent job capturing Parisian culture with appearances by Gérard Depardieu and Jean-Claude Van Damme!
