How To Reduce Acne Scars

The acne scars we had when we were teenagers are starting to present a growing problem when we realize that it is so difficult to get rid of them. Women put on layers of makeup, primer and powder to cover it up, but when they take off all the make up, the fact is that they are still there.

Most of us in our teen years have had problematic skin phases that lasted for several years, and it’s no secret that acne could then be the cause of our low self-esteem. We tried to get rid of them in every way possible, to see the consequences on our face ten years later.

Fortunately, the beauty and pharmaceutical industries are constantly evolving and there are numerous ways to remove acne scars from your face. There are tons of expensive medical treatments and dermatological tricks out there, but before you decide on them (because, it doesn’t have to mean that every skin will suit every treatment), try to do something yourself. Do not expect results overnight, because just as the problem did not arise overnight, it cannot be solved so quickly. Be persistent and treat your skin the right way to give it a chance to regenerate.

Home recipes are best for reducing hyperpigmentation on the face, but it takes time. If you have a problem with deep scars, it is best to seek medical attention, as it is difficult to expect that the worst cases will be solved solely by home remedies. Of course, they will be reduced and will not give you a break, but do not expect miracles. If you still have problematic skin and acne inflamed, avoid these areas before you begin treatments.

The Best Ways to Get Rid of Acne Scars:

Below, we bring you some home-based solutions to get rid of, or at least reduce acne scars.

1. Lemon & Coconut Oil Scrub (Lemon + Baking Soda + Coconut Oil)

Many home skin preparations contain lemon because its properties help to remove dead skin cells and promote natural skin renewal. Also, lemon is known as “bleach”, so you can use it for dark scars on your face. After use, be careful not to expose yourself to the sun just after masks, as your skin will be much more sensitive.

Coconut oil, on the other hand, is great for hydrating the skin and also has antibacterial properties. Baking soda will serve as a gentle scrub and keep sebum under control. All you need for this scrub are:

  • 3 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 3 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons of coconut oil

Mix all ingredients in a bowl, apply a pad or wooden stick to your face and gently massage your face. Allow to stand for one hour and then rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat this process twice a week. This mask is best for regulating hyperpigmentation, blackheads and easier cases of acne scars.

2. Apple Medicine (Apple Cider Vinegar + Aspirin + Sea Salt)

Did you know that apple cider vinegar has a great exfoliation effect and also prevents new pimples? All you have to watch for if you have sensitive skin is the amount of vinegar. If you see that you have overdosed, dilute it with water. In addition to the very obvious properties of aspirin, it also contains salicylic acid, which is normally used for scrubs.

Aspirin salicylic acid will fade dark scars, and apple cider vinegar will prevent new acne from appearing and brighten your skin. Sea salt will remove dead skin cells of your face.

  • 15 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 1 dcl of mineral water
  • 5 aspirin
  • 4 teaspoons sea salt

Crush aspirin finely and mix with all other ingredients. Apply on face, massage and allow to stand for 30-60 minutes. Then rinse and repeat once a week. This mask is best for regulating hyperpigmentation, oily skin and red scars.

3. Milk Coconut Scrub (Milk + Coconut Oil + Brown Sugar)

By milk here we mean organic, whole milk. Milk contains lactic acid, which is a natural exfoliant for removing dead skin cells, will even out your skin tone, and reduce redness and scarring. Sugar serves as a great skin exfoliant, plus it will break down a lot easier than salt, making it much softer.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup of coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of organic milk

Mix all the ingredients until you get a fine paste. Apply it on your face and gently massage the area where your scars are. Allow to stand for 30 minutes and rinse with warm water. Use it at most once a week and it will reduce the dark scars and redness on your face.

4. Oatmeal (oatmeal + honey + coconut oil)

If your skin is hypersensitive to sea salt or sugar, it is better to stick with oatmeal scrubs because they are much softer. Oatmeal contains saponins, which are a natural skin cleanser and remove all dirt and grease. Also, it has anti-inflammatory properties that will reduce redness.

Honey is one of the most famous skin ingredients that will keep it moisturized and stimulate skin renewal, and in addition to its antibacterial properties, it is often used in problematic skin.

  • 2 teaspoons oatmeal
  • ½ glasses of water
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 2 teaspoons of coconut oil

Soak the oatmeal in hot water and let them cool. Add honey and coconut oil and apply on face. Massage and allow to stand for 30 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat the process once a week. This mask is a great solution for sensitive skin with dark scars and redness on the face.
