In case updates are available it will show you the updates that you need to install. To install these updates all you need to do is click on Install Now button to install them. It is major update that you have just installed then you need to restart your computer.

Note: To check for the updates in Windows 10 you need to have active Internet connection. Therefore first make sure that your Internet is up and running before checking for the updates in Windows 10.

1.Press Windows + R key to open the Run command box. Now type in control and press Enter key to open the Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel click on System and Security > Windows Update.

3. Now click on the Check for updates button from the left pane. Now Windows will look for the available updates.

Now as stated earlier Microsoft has ended the support for Windows 7 and Vista therefore they do not provide and release new updates. If you are still able to find some updates in the Windows Update section for Windows 7 and Vista then they are the ones that have not been installed by you till now.

Other Available Options to Install Updates on Windows

We have just learned how to check for updates in Windows 10 but it is not the only way to check and install Updates. You can also download updates from Microsoft Download Center and then install manually on your Windows 10 machine.

Also there are third party software updater tools that helps you in updating programs and downloading pending Windows Updates. Although most of them only helps in updating the installed applications on your computer however, there are few that helps you to check for updates in Windows 10 and install them.
